DAVID JAMES (JIM) KEIR Peacefully on Friday, March 7, 2003, Jim passed away at the Victoria Hospital. Jim was predeceased by his beloved wife Gladys in June of 1996 and his daughter Janet in March of 1995. He will be lovingly remembered by his son Dave and his wife Darlene; his three granddaughters, Terry Sutton, Dawn Hamel and Patty Keir. Jim was born in Winnipeg on January 10, 1921 on Bannerman Avenue in the citys North End. He attended St. Johns High School, formerly St. Johns Tech. until he enlisted as a Radar Technician in the Canadian Air Force. At the completion of the war in 1945 he and Gladys were married. He then took his plumbing apprenticeship with Toole Plumbing. In 1960 he and Gladys started their own business Keir Plumbing and Heating Ltd. Jim and Gladys enjoyed many years of travelling abroad and in later years they enjoyed RVing in Canada and the U.S. Jim enjoyed carpentry work, puttering in the yard and reading. Jim never really retired and always kept an interest in the business. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and support staff, 5th floor, at the Victoria Hospital for their compassionate care. Cremation has taken place and at Jims request no formal service will be held. Arrangements entrusted to: CHAPEL LAWN FUNERAL HOME CEMETERY AND CREMATORIUM 885-9715
