SHIRLEY MARY JOYCE PROCIUK (nee MARKO) Peacefully, after a lengthy illness, Shirley Prociuk, aged 54 years, passed away at the St. Boniface Hospital on Monday, March 24, 2003. Shirley was predeceased by her son Cory Bradley in 1978. She will be lovingly remembered and missed by her husband of 27 years, Dennis; son Curtis and fiancee Elizabeth; daughter Pamela; her parents, Mike and Jennie Marko (Arborg, MB) two sisters, Nellie (John) Burak and Pauline Troyan; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends and her dear "special friend" family dog Sassy. Shirley was a wonderful wife and caring mother, who took pride in her family. She was employed with Wilsons Auto and Rickis Fashions during her earlier years. Shirley enjoyed volunteering at Meadows West School before she retired to take care of her family. She thoroughly enjoyed baking, cooking, gardening and made the best Cabbage Rolls using her "Special Secret Recipe". Special "thank-you" to the doctors and staff at St. Boniface Hospital. Prayers will be held on Sunday, March 30 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church, Bannerman and Arlington, with Divine Liturgy being celebrated on Monday, March 31 at 10:00 a.m., also at the church, with Fr. Athanasius McVay, OSBM officiating. Interment will follow in Brookside Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Curtis Prociuk, Roger Burak, Trevor Troyan, Michael Seredycz, Morris Prociuk and Ed Prociuk. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Shirleys memory to St. Boniface Hospital, Dialysis Patient Fund No. 9340, 409 Tache, Winnipeg, MB R2H 2A6. Be not burdened with times of sorrow. I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow. My lifes been full, I savoured much. Good friends, good times, a loved ones touch. Perhaps my time seemed all too brief. Dont lengthen it now with undue grief.
