VICTORIA RASKO With her family at her side Victoria Rasko passed away peacefully at St. Josephs Residence on March 27, 2003 at the age of 89 years. She leaves to mourn her daughter Joan and husband Pete Daviduik; grandchildren, Debbie and husband Joseph, Randy and wife Kerri; great-grandchildren, Carly, Austin and Ryan; relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband John of 60 years. Victoria was born on August 21, 1913 in Wiezbanowa, Poland. She met and married her husband John in Arris, France. Together with their daughter they moved to Canada in 1948 and settled in Elma, MB. Victoria was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was an exceptional cook and loved to feed any family member, friend or neighbour who happened to come for a visit. She loved to spend many happy hours tending her beautiful garden which was the envy of the neighbourhood. Victorias greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. We will all miss her dearly. The family would like to express our sincere gratitude to the staff of St. Josephs Residence for their kind and compassionate care of Victoria over the last two and one-half years. We feel blessed that she was able to spend her last years in such a loving and cheerful atmosphere. Victoria loved to attend daily church services in the chapel and the many visits made by pastoral care during her illness. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, March 31 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Redeemer Roman Catholic Church, 264 Donwood Dr., with Fr. Raymond Baudry officiating. Viewing will be held one-half hour prior to mass. Interment will follow in Transcona Cemetery.
