Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHANS RUDOLF RAHN Peacefully on April 5, 2003, at the Victoria Hospital Hans Rahn, beloved husband, father and Opa, went to be with his Lord and Saviour, at the age of 78. He will be lovingly remembered by his loving wife of 52 years, Gertrude; daughters, Monika (Rick) St. Pierre, Angela (Rob) Allan and their children, Craig, Jennifer, Scott and Colleen, Helga (fiance Bill Clark), of Edmonton, AB, Eva (Paul) Olfert and their son Cole; son Robert and his daughters, Janice and Kristin; sister Brigitte Franz of British Columbia; and numerous relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Erich and Johanna Rahn; sister Ursula Serger; and brother Dieter. Hans was born on April 21, 1924 in Danzig, East Prussia. He met Gertrude in Germany in 1947 and they were married on December 9, 1950 shortly after immigrating to Winnipeg. He was employed as an upholsterer at Eatons, for 17 years and then by the Province of Manitoba until his retirement in 1989. He loved working with his hands both at work and at home. Hans accepted Jesus as his personal Saviour and Lord in 1964 and was a man of great faith who shared the gospel with all who knew him. Music was a very important part of his life. He sang in St. Peters Lutheran Church choir for 30 years, sang solos for weddings and funerals all for the glory of God. His other loves were family gatherings, the outdoors, family pictures, watching figure skating and soccer, sunsets and travelling. Special thanks to Kevin and Sam (home care) and the staff at the Victoria Hospital 3rd floor for their compassionate care. A celebration of his life will be held Thursday, April 10 at 11:00 a.m. at Calvary Temple, 400 Hargrave St., with Rev. W. Michalski officiating. Reception will be held at the Church with internment to follow in Brookside Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 9, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Klassen Funeral Chapel, 1897 Henderson Hwy. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Heart and Stroke Foundation. "I am the way, the truth, and the life.
