J. EUGENE POIRIER, S.J. 1926 - 2003 Born in 1926 in Mariapolis, MB, and entering the Jesuits in 1944, Fr. Poirier passed away at the Jesuit Infirmary on April 11, 2003. He was ordained to the priesthood in 1957 and, from 1968 to 2000, he taught economics at Georgetown University, WA. Since 2000, he did ministry in parishes of Pierrefonds. He is survived by his two sisters, Fabienne (Abel Robidoux) and Angela (Isidore Moquin) from Saint-Boniface, MB; and several cousins, nephews and nieces, as well as by his Jesuit brothers. The wake takes place at Maison des Jesuites, 175, boul. des Hauteurs, Saint-Jerome, on Monday, April 14, with special prayers at 8:00 p.m. The service will be held at the same location on Tuesday, April 15 at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to Jesuites canadiens (25 Jarry West, Montreal, QC H2P 1S6) would be greatly appreciated.
