BEVERLY LYNN THOMAS (nee SMITH) Suddenly on April 22, 2003, after a short but courageous battle with cancer, Beverly Thomas, aged 55 years, of Beaconia, passed away at the Health Sciences Centre with her family at her side. Beverly will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by her husband of 37 and one-half years, William; son Sheldon (Sue) daughter Kelly (Reg) mother Margaret; sister Donna (Harry) brother Terry (Elise) grandchildren, Danielle, Evangeline, Megan, Ashlyn, Waylon, Destiny and Ryland; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by a son Morley; brothers, Kimberly, Shane and Lorne; and her father William. Beverly grew up in Beaconia and attended school there. She married William on October 30, 1965 and moved to Winnipeg for some time before moving back to Balsam Bay. She enjoyed sewing, baking, cutting fish and most of all spending time with her grandchildren and other family members. An evening prayer service will be held tonight at 7:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk. Funeral service will be held on Friday, April 25 at 1:00 p.m., also in the chapel, with Rev. Judy Whitmore officiating. Cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9.
