GORDON NELSON POLLOCK Gordon Nelson Pollock, born February 4, 1919 in Neepawa, MB, and passed away April 21, 2003 in Abbotsford, BC, aged 84. Predeceased by his first wife Audrey (mother of his three sons) and survived by his second wife Dorothy, who will sadly miss him. During their 11 years together they had many trips around the world, enjoying the company of each other. He is also survived by three sons, Ray (Judy), Earl, and Lorne (Val) six grandchildren, Kevin, Krista, Jeff, Scott, Heather, Neil; and one great-grandchild Adara. Gordon grew up on a farm near Neepawa, and continued to work the same farm as his father David. Gordons grandfather originally homesteaded in the same area in 1890. Gordon joined the R.C.A.F. in 1940 and served in Bomber Command in England during the Second World War as a Pilot Officer. After the war, he returned to farming, and then rejoined the R.C.A.F. in 1953, retiring in 1969. He was then an icemaker at Westwin Curling Club in Winnipeg for four years before joining the Manitoba government as a health service driver, from which he retired in 1985. Gordon was an avid curler, card player, gardener, and was a member of the Gizeh Shriners. A memorial service will be held in Abbotsford, BC on May 4, and there will also be a service in Neepawa, MB at a later date. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
