STEFAN RAC It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father, grandfather, and friend. On Tuesday, April 22, 2003 Stefan passed away peacefully at the home of his daughter. He will be dearly missed by his family and many friends. Stefan is survived by his son Andy, wife Debbie; grandchildren, Jennifer and Andrew; son Louie, wife Glenda; grandchildren, Michael and Adam; son Steven; daughter Helen, husband Steve and grandson Quinten, his "little fella". He also leaves family and friends in Slovenija, (the former Yugoslavia) Born April 12, 1922 in Gornji Slaveci, Prekmurje, he became a carpenter and wood craftsman by trade. After serving in World War II, he immigrated to Canada in the early spring of 1954. Stefan worked as a farm hand in Oakburn and surrounding area prior to starting his lifelong work in construction of grain elevators on the Prairies. Upon retiring, his passion turned to gardening where he produced award winning potatoes and an abundance of vegetables. He spent his spare time sharpening saw blades and various other tools and was always willing to lend a hand where needed. He had a love of animals and children, always showing kindness and caring to them, especially on holiday occasions. He became known to many as Uncle Steve and welcomed the friendship of all, especially his close pals, Lawrence (Marlene and family) and Cliff. Cremation has taken place.
