CONSTANCE M. THURSTON Constance M. Thurston passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 27, 2003, in Regina, SK. Connie was born in Wakefield Yorkshire, England on November 10, 1908. In 1912 she accompanied her parents to Canada where they took up residence in Moosomin, SK. In 1913 Connie accompanied her mother and returned to England, remaining there until 1914, when she again came back to Canada. Connie attended school in Moosomin and later worked as a telephone operator in Wapella, SK. It was there that she met Fred Thurston and they were married on October 29, 1929. Their marriage was blessed with five children. Due to the nature of Freds employment, many moves were encountered, culminating at Minnedosa, MB. She loved to knit and crochet and was also an avid gardener. She had many pen pals from around the world. She was a member of the Eastern Star. Connie was predeceased by her parents, Fred and Constance Boulton; her loving husband Fred; two sons, John and Edward; two brothers, Archie of Moosomin and Charlie of Kamloops; one brother-in-law George Vandendriessche; and two sisters-in-law, Dorothy and Anne. She is survived by her three children, Richard (Donna), Phyllis (Arnold) Graham, and Robert (Donna) daughter-in-law Violet; one sister Audrey; and one brother Frederick (Francis) Boulton of Nottingham, England. She is also survived by 15 grand-children and 21 great-grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews both in Canada and England. Flowers gratefully declined. Friends so wishing may make donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, 1910 McIntyre St., Regina, SK S4P 2R3. Honorary pallbearers are all those with whom she came in contact with. Active pallbearers are her grandsons, Kevin Thurston, Bruce Thurston, Gary Graham, Gordon Graham, Dwayne Thurston, Robert Thurston. A celebration of Connies life will be held in William Booth Special Care Home, 50 Angus Rd., Regina, on Wednesday, April 30, at 1:30 p.m., with Captain Barbara Brown officiating.
