ADOLFO MOURA GAMEIRO It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our father, Adolfo Moura Gameiro, at home on April 29, 2003 at the age of 71. Adolfo is lovingly remembered by his wife of 40 years Maria da Graca; his children, Annabel (Frank) Vattheuer, Rosemary (Paul) Butterworth, Pauline (Peter) Sha, Adolph, Rocque, Beatrice; his brothers, Albertino and Teofilo; and his four grandchildren. He was predeceased by his daughter Grace. Adolfos passion for building and creating was a common thread through all aspects of his life, as were his strong sense of humour and his love of work. His generosity and trust had no limits and took great satisfaction in helping others. Born May 14, 1931 in Urqueira, Portugal, Adolfo was one of the first Portuguese to immigrate to Manitoba in 1955. In the years that passed, he helped many others come to Canada and find jobs, often welcoming them into his home to stay with his family. A bricklayer by trade, he was a hardworking and successful entrepreneur who started his own company, Gameiro Construction. His ambition and endless commitment to work were driven by his desire to provide the best he could for his family. Adolfo brought his yard and many others to life with vegetables, fruit trees and grape vines. One of his greatest pleasures was making wine and proudly sharing it with others. He was a charismatic person who took great joy in telling stories and writing songs and poems. Up until his final day, Adolfos positive outlook, perseverance and courage were an inspiration to all those around him. Adolfo touched many lives and he will be missed. Pai, nos te amamos para sempre. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, May 5 at Desjardins Funeral Chapel, 357 Des Meurons St. Interment will follow at the St. Vital Cemetery.
