Date of Passing: May 14, 2003
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARY PODOLSKY (nee MANDZIUK) Peacefully on Wednesday, May 14, 2003 at the age of 91 years, Mary Podolsky passed away at the Holy Family Nursing Home. Lovingly remembered and deeply missed by her daughter Myrna Nespiak (Don), grandchildren, Angela and Jeffrey Nespiak, son Mel (Linda) of Edmonton, brother Joseph (Mae) Mandziuk, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Harry in 1995. Mom was a woman of great strength and spirit. She put her heart and soul into everything she did. She was a proud founding parishioner of St. Josaphats Ukrainian Catholic Church and took great pleasure in doing volunteer work and making new friends through her membership in the Ukrainian Catholic Womens League for many years. Mom was a very sensitive, loving and caring person. Family gatherings and spending time with her family and friends were very dear to her. She always made Christmas and Easter holidays special, taking great pride in decorating her home and preparing traditional Ukrainian meals. Mom greatly loved and enjoyed the outdoors, and looked forward each spring to planting her garden and caring for her beautiful flowers. During the winter months she loved to sew, embroider and cross stitch, and we will always treasure the beautiful pictures she made for us. This love lives forever. Family Prayers will be held on Friday, May 16 at 7:30 p.m. at Green Acres Funeral Chapel, Hwy. #1 E. at Navin Rd. Family are also invited for the Funeral Service on Saturday, May 17 at 11:00 a.m. at Green Acres Funeral Chapel, with Deacon Leon Twerdun officiating. Interment to follow in Green Acres Memorial Gardens. The family would like to thank the staff of Holy Family Nursing Home, with special thanks to the nurses and staff of Sacred Heart 2-A, for the many years of loving care they provided to Mom. Special thanks also to Moms favourite hairdresser and dear friend, Irene Yanick, and to caregivers Lilia, Dawn, Wilma, Andrea and Janice Buors.
