MARY PREVOST (nee SYROTIUK) It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Mary Prevost at 1:15 p.m. on Sunday, June 29 at Seven Oaks Hospital, with her family at her side. Mary is survived by her husband Roy; sons, Tim (Lavina), Rick (Angela), and Ron (Lucy) grandchildren, Jayne, Ryan, Sean, Keith, Ashleigh, Lindsie, and Myles; sisters, Stella (Victor) Demchenko, Olga Senychych and Domnica Stupak; sisters-in-law, Anne Prevost and Cordelia (Anton) Thomaschewski; brothers-in-law, Ed (Bea) Prevost and Bob Martin; and many nieces and nephews. Mary is predeceased by her parents, Domnica, and Eustache Syrotiuk; her sister Annie, and two infant sisters. Mary was born in Gypsumville Hospital in 1931 and attended school in St. Martin. In 1949 she moved to Winnipeg where she met her future husband Roy. They married at St. Marys Cathedral, and celebrated 51 anniversaries. Mary was an extremely gifted seamstress, who spent many years in the industry as a well-respected supervisor, instructor, and mentor. Her other passion was gardening, and she greatly enjoyed socializing at the Norwin 55 plus Active Living Centre. A wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, Mary will be missed by all who knew her, especially her beloved grandchildren. The family wishes to express our sincere appreciation to the staff of Seven Oaks Hospital for making Mary comfortable in the time she spent there. Special thanks to those who provided spiritual comfort while she was in the hospital, and to Shawn for her compassionate help at home. As per Marys wishes, in lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Osborne House. We love you mom. Funeral services will be held at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. on Friday, July 4 at 12:30 p.m. with viewing at 12:00 p.m. Monsignor Chartrand, who in 1951 performed the marriage ceremony for Roy and Mary, will conduct the service. Interment will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. Arrangements entrusted to: CHAPEL LAWN FUNERAL HOME CEMETERY AND CREMATORIUM 885-9715
