Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWASILY (BILL) POTOROCZA June 6, 1914 - August 30,2003 It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Wasily Potorocza on Saturday, August 30, 2003 at the Victoria General Hospital. Our dear father, grandfather, and great-grandfather will be lovingly remembered by his two daughters, Zoya Shymchyk (Alex) and Tamara Minkevich (Walter) grandchildren, Michael, Vera, Stacey, Andy (Linda), Boris (Lana), John; and great-grandchildren, Nicole, Nadia, and Samantha. Wasily was predeceased by his beloved parents, Paraskevia and Andrei Potorocza; his beloved wife Anastasia (March 10, 1987) sisters Tatiana, Maria, Elena; and brothers Ivan and Nikolai. Born and raised in Maladusha, Belarus, he came to Canada in 1950 with his wife and two young daughters. He and his wife worked hard to support their family all their lives, with father enjoying working as a shoe-smith for many years at Eatons, where he retired. He encouraged higher education and was proud of his daughters and grandchildrens accomplishments. An energetic man and devout Christian, Father took care of his parents, his home, garden and flowers, and cottage at Boulder Bay. He expressed creativity in his leather work, photography, reading newspapers and letter writing. He attended church all his life. His world revolved mainly around his family. There will be many great memories of good times at the cottage where he and Mother provided a wonderful place for his children and grandchildren. Dad had led a full and healthy life and enjoyed his independence at home with the help of his loving daughters and family. A special thank you to the doctors and staff at Victoria General Hospital, and Home Care service. Funeral service will conducted by Fr. Anatoly Melnyk and Fr. Bob Kennaugh 10:00 a.m. Thursday, September 4 at Holy Trinity (Greek-Orthodox) Sobor, 643 Manitoba Ave. Interment at St. Vital Cemetery. Vechnaya Pamyats "We love you and will miss you Papa, Dedka and Great-Grandpa".
