Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJEANNE WILMA CORMIE (nee Skalesky) July 7, 1913 - August 31, 2003 This world is not conclusion; A sequel stands beyond, Invisible, as music, But positive, as sound. It beckons and it baffles; l Her little figure at the gate The angels must have spied, l Of so divine a loss We enter but the gain, Indemnity for loneliness That such a bliss has been. Emily Dickinson After a short, yet comforting stay at Riverview Health Centre, Jeanne Wilma Cormie passed from this life. She had been at Seven Oaks Hospital since July 10. Jeanne was loved by many relatives, friends, and even acquaintances for her joie de vivre, charismatic personality, and sincere kindness. She was a faithful wife and mother to her husband, Walter, (predeceased February 19, 2003), and her children, Gloe, and Suzanne. Jeanne enjoyed challenges and she sought out new projects to tackle. When her daughters were pre-teens, she returned to working outside her home. She excelled in whatever she undertook, including studying and passing her real estate board exams with top scores. Throughout her life, Jeanne remained an enthusiastic letter writer. Jeanne kept up an active correspondence with several charities and research foundations, to which she gave generous donations. In her retirement years she reconnected to her creative abilities put on hold while she raised her children. She began to write and draw again. Jeanne also loved to read medical and homeopathic books. Her early wish was to be a medical doctor, but the Great Depression squelched the possibility for that. However, she was eager to pass on her knowledge of medicinal herbs and health advice to those who were interested. Jeannes Catholic faith was the cornerstone of her life. Her smile, as the cliche goes, would light up a room. She will be missed by her daughters, Suzanne, and Gloe, many relatives, friends, and acquaintances. The beauty and variety of natural flowers were inspiring to her. Flowers may be sent to the funeral chapel. The funeral service will be Friday, September 12, 1:00 p.m., at St. Nicholas Church on Bannerman and Arlington. Prayers will be held Wednesday, September 10, 7:30 p.m., at Knysh Funeral Chapel.
