Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLAWRENCE QUINN September 10, 2003, Lawrence Quinn, suddenly, on Wednesday, September 10, 2003, at his home in Winnipeg, aged 84 years. Predeceased in 1994 by his wife Irene of 48 years, Larry will be lovingly remembered by his daughters, Cathy Quinn-Haynes and husband John Haynes of Kansas City, and Judy Quinn and husband Grant Acheson of Chilliwack. Larry is also survived by brothers, Charles and Gordon; and sisters, Muriel Turner, Dorothy Hanlin, Alice Taylor and Grace Towns. Larry was born in Winnipeg on December 4, 1919. After finishing high school in 1937, he worked for Noble Locksmith, and while roller skating met his future wife, Irene. He volunteered to serve his country in 1940 and during the Second World War, saw action in Italy and Holland. Returning to Canada in early 1946, he married Irene, and resumed his apprenticeship with Noble Locksmith, eventually purchasing the business in 1960. He was a member of several Masonic Orders and served as Master of his Lodge. His love was his cabin at Brereton Lake and many wonderful summers were spent there with his family and many friends nearby. Among the things that Larry enjoyed in life were curling, woodworking, crossword puzzles, playing cards and reading. Larry was patient and generous with his time, and for many years read to the blind. Remembrance service will be held on Wednesday, September 17 at Windsor Park United Church, at 3:00 p.m. Flowers gratefully declined. If friends so desire donations may be made in Larrys memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 6 Donald St., Winnipeg, R3L 0K6.
