DAVINA NISBET (RANDALL) Davina died peacefully at Riverview Health Centre, Palliative Care Unit on Wednesday, September 17, 2003. Davina was predeceased by her husband Roland Randall in 1973 and her son Jack in 1980. She is survived by her beloved husband Douglas Nisbet; her daughter Carol Randall (Zbigniew) and daughter-in-law Janis Randall Simpson (Bruce) grandchildren, Marisa (Adam) Geoff (Jane), Anna (Kirk), Meagan (Jamie), Kathryn and great-grandchildren, Jesse and Nicholas. Davina MacLeod Laing was born in Birtle, MB in 1921. Although an only child, she was the member of a large extended family, of whom her cousins gave her particular happiness and provided ongoing support during her battle with cancer. Mom was a people person, truly happy with many people around her. A holiday for her was not going places but rather seeing people, both friends and relatives. A manifestation of her gregarious nature was her volunteer pastoral care work with the United Church, spanning some 20 years. Her spirited approach to life will be fondly remembered. The family would like to thank the Province of Manitoba, Palliative Care Program and Dr. Michael Stephenson for their care. A memorial service will be held at Deer Lodge United Church, 2093 Portage Ave. at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 20.
