EDWARD GEORGE RAINE June 12, 1930 - October 4, 2003 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father and GeeGee. He is survived by his wife of 48 years Diane; daughters, Jan (Steve), Kelly (Joe) and grandchildren, Breanne (Tom), Stephen and Karlee. He was predeceased by his parents Fred and Ethel; sisters Isabelle and Grace; and brother Fred. Dad was born in Secreton, SK and moved to Winnipeg as a young boy. Dad was a mechanic and during his career he worked at many dealerships throughout Winnipeg before leaving that to operate the McPhillips Texaco Station until 1971. After he left the service station he was self-employed for many years as a gravel truck operator. He then joined the firm of GM Gest as a foreman and worked there until his retirement. After his retirement Dad and Mom spent many happy summers at the Oasis Campground where he enjoyed building his cabin and helping others with their projects. Dad was always available to lend a hand to someone who needed it. The family would like to thank the staff of CancerCare who were so supportive. At the request of our Dad cremation has taken place and a Gathering to celebrate his life will be held on Tuesday, October 7 from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel (Rose Room), 1442 Main St. In lieu of flowers please make a donation in Dads memory to CancerCare, 695 McDermot Ave. or to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 5 Kent Road. Memory is a very special gift. Youre gone, but in our hearts You will remain forever. Dad - we will miss you and love you forever. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
