Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWILLIAM (BILL) BRODOWAY Peacefully on Sunday, October 5, 2003 William (Bill) Brodoway passed away at Bethesda Hospital with his daughters by his side. He is survived by his daughters, Marilyn (Ernie) Hawrysh of Steinbach, Bernice Brodoway of Winnipeg; and his granddaughters, Leanne and Lynette of Winnipeg; also several nieces and nephews. Bill was predeceased by his wife Stella in 1975. She was in ill health for several years and Dad looked after her with loving care. Dad was born on July 27, 1912 in Overstoneville, MB and lived most of his life on a farm near Vita, MB. He loved the land and worked very hard, enjoying the simple things in life, cutting wood in the bush, planting a garden, working on the field with his tractor, picking wild berries and mushrooms, going for coffee. Dad was a quiet, kind, gentle man with a witty sense of humour, which we will miss very much. The family gratefully acknowledges Dr. Wilfried Kaethler for the wonderful compassionate care he gave Dad over the last several years. We would also like to thank the staff at the Bethesda Rehab Unit for their excellent care. We greatly appreciate the kindness and respect you showed our dad and the compassion given to the family during the last weeks. Prayers will be held Tuesday, October 7, at 7:00 p.m. at the Loewen Funeral Chapel in Steinbach. Mass of the Resurrection will be held Wednesday, October 8, at 3:00 p.m. at the St. Isidore Roman Catholic Church, 3 miles west of Vita, MB with Fr. T. Jegierski officiating, with interment to follow at the Parish Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made to the Bethesda Palliative Care Unit.
