IDA THOM It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our dear wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend, Ida Thom. Ida left this world peacefully, with her family by her side at the Grace Hospital, on Sunday October 12, 2003. Ida is survived by her loving husband of 61 years of marriage, Harold; son Doug and his wife Marge; one sister Carolyn and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents; her son, Robert Allan; two brothers and five sisters. Ida cherished her family and home; church; and many friends and she will be sadly missed. She was a long time member of Knox United Church, having devoted many years to the executive of UCW as well as the Board of Managers and many other committees. Her involvement with Shrine activities, Ladies Auxiliary and Daughters of the Nile gave her great joy and happiness. Ida was a lover of sports, both as a spectator and a participant - especially curling and 30 years of golfing at St. Charles Country Club. Flowers gratefully declined. Donations may be made to the Duval Foundation of Knox United Church, 400 Edmonton St., Winnipeg, MB R3B 2M2, or charity of ones choice.
