Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySTEFANIA RAROG Peacefully on Friday, October 17, 2003, Stefania Rarog, our dearest Mama, Babcia i Pra-Babcia, passed away at Seven Oaks Hospital, surrounded by her loving and caring family, at the age of 92 years. Remaining to forever cherish Stefanias memory are her daughter Helena Soltys (Stanislaw) son John Rarog (Irena) daughter-in-law Zofia Rarog of Winnipeg and son-in-law Stefan Porczek in Poland; her 14 grandchildren; Malgorzata Brodowicz (Stanislaw), Janusz Porczek (Agnieszka) in Poland, Mieczyslaw Porczek (Urszula), Marian Porczek (Danuta), Alicja Dyrkacz (Hironin), Dorota Wojcik (Marek), Elizabeth Barstad (Ron), Betty Rarog (Ron Boyko), Robert Rarog (fiancee Cheryl), Walter Soltys, Diana, Angie, Michael Rarog all of Winnipeg and Krysia Vodrazka (Vrad) of Charlotte, North Carolina; 17 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephew, as well as numerous relatives in Poland and France. She was predeceased by her husband Augustyn; son Adam of Winnipeg; daughter Zofia Porczek and sister in Poland; four brothers and sister-in-law Franciszka Belejczuk of Winnipeg. Stefania was born on December 24, 1910 in Poland. Orphaned at the age of 9, she was raised by her family. In her childhood she had many sorrows and hardships, struggling to get the basic necessities of life. She managed to overcome these difficult advertises. Along with her husband and son, Stefania arrived in Winnipeg in October 1965. She always had a smile on her face. Throughout her life, Mama always showed her love and caring ways through her hospitality, always offering food to family and friends. She was a warm, good hearted woman who put her family first and was willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it. Her greatest pleasure was to see something growing in the garden or baking in the oven. Her family gave her the greatest joy and happiness in life. Prayers will be held on Tuesday evening, October 21 at 8:00 p.m. in the Holy Ghost Roman Catholic Church, 341 Selkirk Ave. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday morning, October 22 at 10:30 a.m., also in the Church with Fr. Rev. Fr. Antoni Degutis, O.M.I. Presiding and Rev. Fr. Boguslaw Wardzinski concelebrant. Interment will follow in the Holy Ghost Roman Catholic Parish Cemetery, 4387 Main St. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Walter Soltys, Robert Rarog, Mieczyslaw Porczek, Marian Porczek, Hironin Dyrkacz and Marek Wojcik. Our family would like to extend our sincere appreciation to Rev. Fr. Antoni Degutis, O.M.I., who gave Mama the Sacrament of The Sick and to Dr. J. Kreml for his years of dedication and caring; to Timmalea Thompson and all her home care girls who took care of her and a special thanks to the nursing staff on Level 3U9 for all their tender loving care they showed Mama and her family. As an expression of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations in Stefanias memory may be made to the Holy Ghost Roman Catholic Church, 341 Selkirk Ave., Winnipeg, MB R2W 2L8.
