WILSON (WILLIE) THOMSON With sadness we announce the passing of Wilson (Willie) Thomson on Tuesday, October 28, 2003 at the Deer Lodge Centre. Willie was predeceased by his beloved wife Evelyn in January of this year; his parents, Charles and Elizabeth Thomson and brother William G. Thomson. He is survived by his only daughter Judy (David) Saxerud of St. Paul, MN; sister Elizabeth A. (Betty) Thomson; grandchildren, Lance and Lauren Saxerud, niece Barbara (Jim) Hogue and nephew Graham M. (Susan) Thomson and family. Willie was born September 19, 1914 at 609 Ashburn St. in the west end. He attended Isaac Brock and Daniel McIntyre schools. He served in the RCAF during the Second World War and was employed by Robinson Little and Company Limited for over 40 years. As a child Willie developed a love of horses, having spent summers on his uncles sheep ranch in Maple Creek, SK. Willie also enjoyed many years of good fellowship and fun as a charter member of Breezy Bend Country Club. Sincere thanks to Debbie Benger and her staff on Lodge 7 at the Deer Lodge Centre where Willie had lived for the past two years. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held Friday, October 31 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel at the Deer Lodge Centre, 2109 Portage Ave. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to the Deer Lodge Foundation, 2109 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3J 0L3 or a charity of your choice.
