ALMA LORRAINE THOMPSON It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Alma on Saturday, November 1, 2003, following her battle with cancer. Alma was the beloved wife of Wayne and the cherished mother of Kimberley Anne (son-in-law, John Burns) and Bradley Wayne (daughter-in-law Diane). Alma will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren, Matthew, Michael and Jennifer Burns. Alma will also be remembered by all those whom she touched with her work at the Bank of Montreal and Whitmore Park United Church. Alma was born on January 28, 1938 in Gladstone, MB, the only daughter of Joshua and Adele McArthur. Alma met Wayne in Winnipeg while working with the Bank of Montreal and in 1964 they were married. Wayne and Alma came to Regina in 1971 with their children Kim and Brad. Alma returned to the Bank of Montreal at the Southland Mall Branch where she worked for 24 years. In May of this year Alma was diagnosed with cancer, and after a brief and courageous battle, passed away peacefully with her family at her side. Alma will be remembered by those who knew her for her kindness, compassion, and selfless devotion to family and friends. Thanks to Dr. Casey, Dr. Dalata, Dr. Cuddington, nurses on 6A General, and 4A Pasqua. Palliative care nurses Shannon and Lorraine. Special thanks to our friends in the Whitmore Park Church and community, Brads workplace associates, as well as Kims co-workers for all of their support, and prayers. Cremation has taken place. A service of remembrance will take place at Whitmore Park United Church, 336 Durham Dr., Regina on Saturday, November 8 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. JoAnne Knobbe, officiating. A private family interment will take place at a later date.
