MARTINUS BECX SR. It is with much sorrow and great sadness that we announce the sudden but peaceful passing of our beloved father Martinus Becx, Sr., who passed away on Thursday, November 6, 2003 at the Seven Oaks General Hospital. Born in Oisterwijk, The Netherlands, on Thursday, June 3, 1926, he married Joanna Maria Van Wyk on Thursday, April 10, 1958, and immigrated to Canada shortly thereafter. Left to cherish his memory is his daughter Diana, eldest son Martinus (Martin, Jr.), wife Lyn, granddaughter Amber, and Lyns family, and youngest son Nicholas, all of Winnipeg. Martinus also leaves behind two brothers, Harrie and Jo; one sister Bets; as well as many in-laws, nephews, nieces, and friends in Canada, The Netherlands, and Australia. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Joanna; parents, Huebertus and Arnolda; four brothers, Toon, Jacobus, Albert, Leo; and twin sister Lena. At his request, cremation has already taken place and no formal service will be held. At Martinuss request, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba. The family wishes to thank all the doctors and staff at the Seven Oaks General Hospital for making his last day as comfortable as possible. "DAD, REST IN PEACE WE WILL MISS YOU."
