VIOLET PORAYKO (nee RECKSIEDLER) Violet passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Thursday, November 6, 2003 at the age of 69. She leaves to mourn her loving husband of 53 years, John; her children, David, Raymond, Sheila (Hank), Brian (Terry), Holly (Murray), Carol (Dave), Jocelyn (Ernie), Lyle, and Elaine (Wayne) grandchildren, Jason (Karlene), Crystal, Terance, Darren, Thomas, Dean, Terri-lynn, Justin, Charlene, Shawn, Lance, Evan, Ashley and Karla; great-grandchildren, Mateo, Koayla, Jehlani and Brady; three sisters and one brother. She was predeceased by her eight brothers, two sisters and granddaughter Melissa. Family and friends that werent mentioned are also in our hearts. Mom had a strong faith in God. She stayed at home to raise her family, she worked hard on the farm and grew a large garden. Mom enjoyed her flower gardens and plants she pressed them and captured their beauty. She got much enjoyment from watching birds especially the hummingbird. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 12 at 1:00 p.m. in the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 6088 PTH 9A, Selkirk, with Pastor Dave Saude officiating. A viewing will be held one hour prior to services. Interment will follow at Jackfish Lake Cemetery. Luncheon will be held at the Grand Marais Recreation Hall. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba. The family wishes to express their deep gratitude for their loving care and support provided by the Tudor House Personal Care Home and in-home care and Dr. Demsas, Dr. Johnson, and Dr. Lindenschmidt.
