YVONNE MEECHAN (nee DAENINCK) 1938 - 2003 It is with much sadness that we announce the passing of a remarkable woman after a courageous battle with cancer. Yvonne left us on November 13, 2003 at her home surrounded by family and friends. Wife, mother, grandmother, sister, friend and mentor, she inspired us through her warm spirit, undying faith and commitment to family and friends. For all the travellers she met near and far, she opened her home and heart to all. Yvonnes quiet confidence and unique ability to put others at ease, made her a confidante, friend, and mentor to many. Yvonne is survived by her family, loving husband Jim; sons, Michael and Patrick; daughter Kelly (Steve) and four grandchildren, as well as her Winnipeg family, her sister Irene (Sam) Lemoine; her three brothers, Joe (Irene), Maurice (Mary), Marcel (Louise), sister-in-law Denise Daeninck and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Jan and Eliza Daeninck, and brother Andre. Memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 22 in Victoria, BC. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba or BC Cancer Foundation.
