Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDOREEN ALVINA PRUDEN (nee CLARK) Peacefully on November 21, 2003, surrounded by loving family, Doreen passed away at the age of 74. Dode will be sadly missed by children, Douglas and Lori; grandson Michael; foster daughter Surjeet Knowles; brother Chester; sisters-in-law, Edie and Rita; also brothers-in-law, Charles and Leask (Barbara) sisters-in-law, Nina, Violet, Babs, and Allison; in addition to many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. Doreen was predeceased by husband Roy in 1984 and also parents, Bill and Amy Clark, brother George and sister Mary and numerous brothers and sisters-in-law. Doreen was born August 13, 1929 at Stony Point, MB. It was there she met and fell in love with Roy Pruden and they were married in 1951. The early years of their marriage were spent in Winnipeg before the family moved to Germany where dad was stationed. The family also resided in Calgary, Victoria and Stony Point. After the passing of dad , mom moved to Winnipeg with her beloved grandson, Michael, before again returning to her birthplace. Mom loved to shop and to watch her soaps. Her love for her family was her greatest devotion. She always gave unconditional love and was a devoted wife, mom and granny. She will be in our hearts forever. The family would like to thank Dr. Lindenschmidt and the staff at Red River Place especially those on Oakridge for the kindness and love they showed mom. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, November 25, at 1:30 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, 309 Eveline Street, Selkirk., with Fr. Bob English officiating. Interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation in Doreens memory. You can only have one mother, Loving, kind and true. No other friend in all the world Will be so true to you. For all her loving kindness, She asks for nothing in return. If all the world deserted us, To our Mother we could turn. For those who have a mother, Treasure her with care, For you will never know her value, Till you see that shes not there. To hear her voice, to see her smile To sit and talk with her awhile. To be together in the same old way, Would be our dearest wish today. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk, in care of arrangements.
