Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryELLEN BOW LAM NICHOLAS (nee DARE) It is with deep and heartfelt sorrow, we announce the unexpected passing of Ellen Nicholas on Friday December 5, 2003 at the tender age of 31. Peacefully at St. Boniface Hospital, with her family at her side, she leaves us with the joyful reminder of herself in her 8 month old son Carlin. She will always be remembered by her parents, Man Yuk and Stanley Dare; her brother Chris and her fiance Brian LeBlanc. She will be deeply missed by her grandmother and her numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Ellen was born on August 27, 1972 in Winnipeg. She was the oldest of 19 grandchildren. She has made many friends over the years socially and at work. She worked most of her life at Foon Hai Restaurant which was opened by her parents in 1984. Customers and friends there will remember her for her warm and loving heart as well as her sense of humour. Over the years she was a part of many families which frequented the restaurant, she always took an interest in their lives and the childrens lives. Her love for children was eminent to all around her, and on March 31, 2003 her only son was born. Ellen was really looking forward to Carlins first Christmas, buying presents, booking photos and waiting for Santa. But dont worry Ellen, mom, dad, Chris and Amy will make this Christmas and all to follow memorable for him. Ellen, you were a wonderful mother, a caring daughter, a loving sister and a great friend. You will be deeply missed and forever loved by us. I love you sis. We would like to thank the staff at the MICU at St. Boniface Hospital for their patience and care towards Ellen. We know you tried your best. Thank you. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made towards Baby Carlins Trust Fund. Donations will be taken at the service and at the restaurant. Viewing Tuesday December 9 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Bardal Funeral Home, 843 Sherbrook St., and one hour prior to the service.
