URSULA THOMA Ursula Thoma, late of Regina, SK, passed away over the Christmas holidays. Ursula is predeceased by her mother, Erna Elizabeth Kneisel. She is survived by her sisters, Monica Forbes and Barbara Echeverri; and by her brother Michael; her brothers-in-law, Freddy Echeverri and Ralph Forbes; niece Danielle and nephew Ian Forbes; extended family members Nelda, Greg, Suzanne, (Mia and Jolsen) and Dona-Lynn Morley; special friends Annette and Joe Marche and her special Godchild Brandyn; Lorne Pavelick, Susan Martin, Bill Fields and Walter Davis, as well as many other friends, particularly those she met in the twelve step program. Ursula will be greatly missed by us all. Ursula was born on October 1, 1956 in Ludwigshafen am Rhein, Germany and came to Canada with her mother and father when she was nine months old. She lived with her family in Montreal until the family moved to Sydney, NS in 1966. She lived there until the death of her mother, after which she lived with her sister Barbara in Halifax, Toronto and Winnipeg. Eventually she moved to Regina where she made her life. She worked in day care and in Third World Development before receiving her Journalism Degree from the University of Regina. Ursula was a social activist from her early teenage years and worked with many organizations in the pursuit of equality and social justice. Her friends and family are very proud of her and her achievements. Ursula knew how to be a good friend and she touched many lives. Ursula was also an avid reader, a tireless knitter and was tremendously devoted to her cats. Memorial service will be held at the Regina Funeral Home, Hwy #1 East, on Wednesday, December 31 (New Years Eve) at 6:00 p.m. Arrangements are entrusted to Regina Funeral Home (Phone 789-8850)
