MARGARET LENORA POTTS On January 1, 2004 at Oakview Place, Margaret passed away at the age of 66. Margaret was predeceased by her husband, Barry in 2002, her mother, Evelyn Bassett, her sister, Doreen Schaefer, and her bother, Kenneth Bassett. She is survived by her children, Donna and Bradley Bassett; granddaughter, Keely; brother, Lloyd (Gloria) and many nieces and nephews. Margaret was born July 18, 1937 in Gilbert Plains, MB. She later moved to Winnipeg, where she met and married Barry in 1971. Marg started with the Winnipeg School Division in 1973 and her first office assignment was at Elmwood High School. She worked at Elmwood for 19 years and was known for running the best print shop in the Division. In 1991, Marg went to Stanley Knowles, where she helped restructure and modernize the office equipment, but more importantly, brought her great sense of humour and her fish aquarium skills. She retired from the School Division in 1998. Marg and Barry enjoyed wonderful vacations to England to visit Barrys family and hometown. There were also many memorable trips to BC to see Brad and Keely, and to Moose Jaw to spend time with Lloyd and his family. Margaret loved watching sports, playing cards, and going for long drives. She was an accomplished pianist and loved to play at family gatherings. The family wishes to thank the staff at Oakview for the care and comfort Margaret received. In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held in the spring with interment at Green Acres Memorial Gardens.
