NOREEN CONSTANCE CURRY (nee MURPHY) Departed this world, looking glamourous as usual, on January 21, 2004 in Novato, California. Born in Winnipeg, MB in 1915; former wife of Peter D. Curry; passionately interested in nature and wildlife conservation, literature, gardening and international travel; went on 13 safaris and two bat expeditions in Africa; was part of a field research team with the Royal Ontario Museum that discovered a new species of bat in Cameroon which was named the "Glauconycteris curryi" in her honour; sky-dived twice in her mid-70s; survived a plane crash en route to touring Antarctica; was a loving mother and lived a full, fiercely independent life, touching the lives of many dear friends throughout the world with her joie de vivre and courage. Survived by daughter, Kathy Charpentier; sons, Steele (Judy), Mark (Ann) and Patrick Curry (Suzanna) grandchildren, Sabrina Briggs (Jon), Beau, Simon, Xavier, Zachary, Matthew, Serena, Jade and Sylva Curry; and great-grandchild, Cole Briggs. Nono will be remembered as an unique, high-spirited, radiant individual of great charm and style who generated warmth, light and sparks wherever she went. Bon voyage Nono.
