ANNE POPLAWSKI Peacefully, on January 23, 2004, Anne passed away at the Holy Family Nursing Home at the age of 91 years. Anne is survived by three daughters, Rita (Joe) Garcea, Irene (Jim) Adams and Lorraine Slota; three grandchildren, Melanie (Jeremy), Joey and Jonathan; three great-grandchildren, Danielle, Brittany and Gavin; three sisters as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband John; four brothers, two sisters and son-in-law Michael Slota. Anne was born in Alberta and moved to Winnipeg in 1943 with her husband. Mother always worked very hard in order to make a better life for her girls. She was a very kind and gentle person and her door was always open to friends and family. Mom spent many happy hours caring for her grandchildren who adored her. As a deeply religious person, mother found great strength in her faith. She will be greatly missed. Prayers will held on Wednesday, January 28 at 8:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, January 29 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Ghost Roman Catholic Church, 341 Selkirk Ave. Interment to follow in Brookside Cemetery.
