Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMYRNA PYPER (nee KUSYK) 1940 - 2004 After a recent medical problem, Myrna Pyper passed away on January 15 at the age of 63. Myrna Pyper (Kusyk) was born in Portage La Prairie, MB on May 29. She grew up in Winnipeg, attending Britannia and St. James Collegiate. Myrna married Lawrence "Butch" Pyper (43 years). Myrna and Butch lived for a few years in San Francisco and Grand Forks before returning to Winnipeg. In 1967 they moved to Edmonton, AB and from there they moved to Gibbons, AB. In 1975 they moved to the Keephills area west of Edmonton. They lived on a small farm for 25 years. Myrna spent her days working on the farm and caring for her family. She especially enjoyed this time of her life, working in her garden and selling the eggs laid by her chickens. For the last two years Myrna lived in Stoney Plain. Myrna was a very special person, one who we could look "up" to even though she was small in stature. She was a person who gave each one of us her undivided attention, always had a cheerful smile no matter what reason she had to be discouraged. Myrna accepted to plight in life, never let herself give up on any situation. She enjoyed sharing everyones joys and accomplishments. Myrna was thoughtful always making sure everyone got their "special" homemade cookies, whether they were little piggie-shaped cookies for the kids who raised pigs or the heart shaped cookies or Xmas cookies, Myrna made sure all the children she knew far and wide received her cookies. Her home made chocolates were a great hit as well for the young and old! Myrnas love of the land, her garden, flowers, her zest and her love of life made her so wonderful. Myrna was a great teacher of life. She taught us to be generous, forgiving, helpful, kind hearted and strong. She taught us being angry would not help any situation, even having a leg removed, life would get better. She taught us a broken glass is better than a cut hand. Thank You Myrna. Myrna was predeceased by her father and mother, Michael and Alice Kusyk and husband Lawrence "Butch" Pyper; daughter-in-law Veronica Pyper. She is survived by daughter Debbie (Edmonton) son Robbie (Fort Saskatchewan, AB) sister Linda Clark (Dwight) of Winnipeg; brother Bruce (Vancouver) numerous nieces and nephews; aunts, Joyce Wierer of Birtle, MB and Elsie Evanson of Gladstone, MB; brothers-in-law, Roy Pyper (Vancouver), Jim Pyper (Toronto) sister-in-law Cecilia Andrews (Brian) of Calgary and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service has taken place January 21 in Stoney Plain, AB. Myrna we know you were in so much pain for such a long time and it was time to go. Be in peace. We love and miss you so much already.
