Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOHN "JACK" ALBERT QUINN Mr. John "Jack" Albert Quinn, late of Abbotsford passed away on February 14, 2004 at the age of 87 at M.S.A. Hospital. He is survived by his daughter Patricia Flodin (Bruce) his son James Quinn (Deborah) and grandchildren, Matthew, Andrew and Caitlin Quinn. Mr. Quinn was a resident of Abbotsford ever since 1953, when he moved with his young family to become the General Manager of the Atangard Hotel, now the Fraser Valley Inn. He was active in the Chamber of Commerce and Rotary Club during the 1950s and was a founding member and Vice-President of the Abbotsford Curling Club. One of the Fraser Valleys original commuters, Mr. Quinn was the General Manager of the Chieftain Hotel in Squamish, BC, during the early 1960s, and was the Managing Director of Wild Rose Mills Ltd., Vancouver until his retirement. Mr. Quinn joined the Royal Canadian Air Force in August, 1940 at Fort William, ON and served both in Canada (Gander, NF, Prince Rupert, BC, and Sea Island, BC) and Overseas (England and France) until retiring as a Flight Lieutenant in November 1945. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion ever since 1944; a member of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry since 1947, Abbotsford Lodge, No. 70; and a regular member of the Gizeh Temple, A.A.O.N.M.S. of Burnaby, BC and the Abbotsford Shrine Club No. 40. Mr. Quinn was the first President of Ledgeview Properties Limited (1974, 1975) and was the first President of the Ledgeview Golf and Country Club-Society (1976, 1977). The Municipality of Matsqui purchased the Ledgeview Golf & Country Club in 1980. Mr. Quinn was made an Honorary Lifetime Member of the Ledgeview Golf and Country Club in February, 2003. As you might guess, golf was his passion. The family wishes to express their sincere thanks to Dr. G. Collingridge and the kind, thoughtful and caring staff at M.S.A. Hospital. A funeral service and reception will be held Friday, February 20 at 12:00 p.m. from the Chapel at Hendersons Funeral Home, 34537 Marshall Rd., Abbotsford, BC.
