MICHAEL RADCHENKA It is with great sadness and deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Michael Radchenka, our husband, father, grandfather and friend who passed away on February 15, 2004. Remaining to cherish his memory is his beloved wife of 47 years Mary; as well as his four children, Eleanore (Randy), Ed, Peter (Anita) and Robert; his two grandchildren, Lyndon and Courtney. He was predeceased by his brothers, Nick and Alex. Mike was born in the early thirties in Pinsk, Bellorrussia. Being left an orphan in Germany at the age of 10 years, he learnt to be the perfect dad. At age 15, Mike started work in the garment industry and was never unemployed a day in his life. After many decades, he went to work for ACTWU (garment industry union) he retired from there in 1997. Shortly after arriving in Canada, Mike pursued his dream of being a tenor. At the age of 17, headlines read, Byelorussian youth astounds audience with voice, which won him a Rose Bowl in the Manitoba Music Festival. His love of nature took him to Winnipeg Beach in the early sixties and he enjoyed endless time with his family, friends and animals. Mike was also very proud of his heritage. The family wishes to express thanks to Seven Oaks Hospital ICU staff especially Sharon. A Celebration of Life Ceremony has been held at Cropo Funeral Chapel for family and close friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mikes memory to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 5 Kent St., Winnipeg, MB R2L 1X3. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
