MAUREEN PATRICIA THOMPSON Peacefully on February 25, 2004, at Grace Hospital, Maureen Thompson, aged 60, of Winnipeg, passed away surrounded by her family. Predeceased by her father Paddy OBrien. Maureen leaves to cherish her memory her husband John; her mother Anne Marie OBrien; sons, Andrew and Norman; daughters, Candace and Shaunna; and grandsons, Sebastian and Gavin. Maureen was born in Hertfordshire, England, and came to Canada in 1967 with her husband and her son Andrew. Maureen and John were foster parents for over 30 years, and have cared for more than 700 children. Maureen was a mother to all and delighted in doing things for others. She touched many peoples lives and will be sadly missed. Her time with us has left this world a much better place. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Grace Hospital and the nurses of the Palliative Care service. A memorial service will be held March 3 at the ANAF Assiniboia Unit, 283 - 3584 Portage Ave., at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Maureens memory to the ALS Society.
