ROSE RANDALL Peacefully, on March 7, 2004, Rose Randall passed away at the Victoria General Hospital. Rose was born in Ethelbert, MB, on November 17, 1919, the youngest daughter of Nikola and Barbara Noga, and resided there until moving with her family to the Peace River District of Alberta in 1931. Rose started her working life in Codesa, AB and remained there until 1939 when she relocated to McLennan, AB to work for the Northern Alberta Railway. In 1952, Rose returned to Winnipeg to work with her brother Bill, eventually taking over as owner and operator of Wm. Nuggett Beauty Salon on Osborne Street. Rose considered her staff and clientele as cherished friends, making many lifelong friendships. It was during this time that Rose met the love of her life, Burdette (Bud) Randall. Rose and Bud were married on November 4, 1961 and enjoyed their life together until Buds death in 1985. In her retirement, Rose enjoyed many happy times with her sisters, tending her hobby farm near Anola. She was particularly proud of her home on Cambridge Street and took great pleasure in taking care of her flowers and sharing her home with her beloved dog, Mitzi. In 2002, she moved to Fred Douglas Heritage House and thereafter to Poseidon Care Centre. Rose was predeceased by her brothers, John, Peter and Bill; and her sisters, Annie, Nellie and Elsie. She is survived by her sister, Helen Phillip of Winnipeg; brother-in-law Hugh Wright of Toronto; sister-in-law Alice Berner of Edmonton, AB; as well as her many nieces and nephews. The family would like to express sincere thanks to the staff of Fred Douglas Heritage House, Poseidon Centre and the Victoria and Grace Hospitals, for their kind and gentle care of Rose over the past few years. Funeral services will be held at the Transcona Funeral Chapel, 1800 Day St. on Thursday, March 11 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. John Holmen officiating. Interment to follow at the Transcona Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, should friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society, or to a charity of ones choice. God, make me brave for life; oh, braver than this. Let me straighten after pain; as a tree straightens after rain, shining and lovely again. God, make me brave for life; much braver than this. As the blown grass lifts, let me rise from sorrow with quiet eyes, knowing Thy way is wise. God, make me brave, life brings such blinding things. Help me keep my sight; Help me see aright That out of dark comes light. From Roses personal papers, author unknown. Transcona Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements.
