GUIDO PORCO It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing on Tuesday, March 9, 2004, after a courageous battle with cancer at his residence, of our dearly beloved husband, father and grandfather Guido Porco, aged 76 years, with his loving family by his side. Guidos memory will be forever cherished, and lovingly remembered by his wife of 53 years Helen; children, Frank, Carol, Ken (Allayne) grandchildren, Domenic, Michael, Joe, Jennifer, Maria, Christina, Linden, Amanda and Ryan; brother Mike; and sister Maria; as well Guido leaves behind to mourn his passing, numerous relatives and close friends. He was predeceased by his beloved parents, Frank and Rose; his daughter Rosalyn; brothers-in-law, Wilfred Merkel, Myron Spuzak, Peter Spagnuolo; and son-in-law Lou Dmyterko. Dad was born on Thursday, March 24, 1927 in Figlini, Italy coming to Canada in 1949, and settling in Transcona in 1950. Working hard at a variety of jobs until establishing a 32 year career at Griffin Canada where he retired in 1991. Dads passion was his family of whom he was very proud and loved to spend time with. He also loved to camp, and over the years travelled to many destinations with friends and family. He finally traded in his motor home for a Park Model in Mesa, AZ, where he and mom spent their winters for ten memorable years. Dad was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend who will be sadly missed by all who loved him. Prayers will be held on Sunday, March 14 at 7:30 p.m. at St. Joseph The Worker Roman Catholic Church, 505 Brewster St. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, March 15 at 1:00 p.m. also at the Church, with Rev. Fr. Wenceslao Rebillaco presiding. Interment will follow at Transcona Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of dad may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society and/or the Canadian Diabetes Association. RIPOSA EN PACE KNYSH FUNERAL CHAPEL 1020 MAIN STREET 582-0973
