Date of Passing: Mar 20, 2004
Offer Condolences or MemoryFRANCIS FOTHERGILL BUCK (FRANK F. BUCK) L/SGT. RCASC On Saturday, March 20, 2004, surrounded by the love from his family, Frank Buck made his journey home. Frank will meet again with many loved ones, especially his beloved wife Hazel (nee Mills). Frank and Hazel were married for 38 wonderful years. He has missed her so since her passing on September 9, 1996. They will now be together forever. Frank is survived by his daughter Hazel, son-in-law Ronald Perrie; beautiful grandchildren, Victoria, Justin, Tamara, Aron and the triplet grandsons he was very proud of, Graeme, Andrew and Gabriel. He was also foster Grampa to Amanda. As well, Frank leaves behind his sister Dorothy Lindblom and many nieces and nephews. There are many people who will miss Franks wonderful presence. Frank was born on May 2, 1920 in Stockton on Tees, England to Francis and Alice Buck. In 1922 Frank came to Canada with his parents and they settled on a farm in Melita, MB. Frank loved his country and volunteered for army service in 1940. He served in Great Britain, Italy and North West Europe. He continued his service in the militia after the war. Frank was employed with Transport Canada for 28 and a half years. He worked at both Winnipeg Airport and at St. Andrews Airport. In 1985, Frank retired from his work at St. Andrews Airport as the Supervisor of Airport Operations. Frank spoke often of his work, both the good times and the challenging times. He treasured the relationships he had with his co-workers, sharing many memories with us from these years. Franks life revolved around his family. He and his precious Hazel were married on June 21, 1958. Together, they loved camping, fishing, horse racing, games of chance and dancing. Frank spoke often of the good times he and Hazel had dancing at many social events, but mostly of the times spent at Pattersons Barn. Frank loved his family and always put them first. His life was full of love from his grandchildren, whom he enjoyed having over to his house. They will miss him immensely. Frank was an honourable soldier, a good husband, a wonderful father and a very special Grampa. We love him very much. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 26 at Brookside Cemetery. The Rev. Faurschou officiating. Reception to follow at Brooklands Community Centre. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses in the Palliative Care Unit at the St. Boniface Hospital for their loving support and the care given to Frank. You were always there when we needed you No task too great or small, With a loving heart and willing hand For us you did them all. Thanks for the years you gave us, And for the times we shared, We only pray when you left us You knew how much we cared. God saw you getting tired When a cure was not to be, He put His arms around you And said, "Come unto Me". Forever in our memories. May God bless you and keep you. NEIL BARDAL INC. 949-2200
