Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryELIZABETH HELEN THOMLINSON (nee LUNDY) 1942 - 2004 Elizabeth (Betty) Helen Thomlinson (nee Lundy) of Calgary passed with grace and dignity on March 31, 2004 at her home in Calgary, AB. Elizabeth was born in Hamilton, ON in 1942. She grew up in rural Manitoba and attended Winnipeg General Hospital School of Nursing. After graduation she nursed at Norway House, MB, and from there moved to McCreary to raise her family. She continued her nursing career at Ste. Rose Hospital for 15 years. After that point Elizabeth returned to school to complete her degrees in nursing. She later went to the University of Minnesota to pursue her Ph.D. in nursing, graduating in 2000. Challenged by her opportunities to teach at both the University of Manitoba and the University of Calgary, she delighted in bringing knowledge to her students. Throughout her career she contributed to a number of articles and book chapters, culminating in co-editing a textbook on nursing issues. In the summer she liked to spend time at the cabin in Clear Lake, enjoying the sights and sounds and familiar faces. She also loved to golf, a sport she acquired later in life, and enjoyed many rounds with family and friends. Her lifelong devotion to her family leaves her sadly missed by her sons and their wives, David (Tanya), Michael (Monica), Mark (Debra), and Eugene (Ebony) and dearly loved by her grandchildren, Devin, Maia, Ben, Aidan, and William. She will be missed dearly by her brothers and their wives, Ken (Marlene) and Gordon (Pat) her sister Shelley; and former husband Jim. Also missing their aunt will be her nieces and nephews, Steven (Paula), Kent (Roxanne), Lesley, Jessica and Cody; as well as many friends, aunts, cousins and their families. Funeral services will be held at Parkdale United Church (2919 - 8th Ave. N.W., Calgary, AB) on Monday, April 5 at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. Jan Craig officiating.
