S. ROGER G. BEAUFOY S. Roger G. Beaufoy, at St. Josephs Hospital, London, on Friday, April 2, 2004. Roger is survived by his wife Anne who he married in 1953; niece Barbara Qualley of Victoria, BC; Patricia, Lelia, Ursula and Sydney of Winnipeg, Suzanne and James Fletcher who became part of his family. He was predeceased by sister Ursula; and brother Antony. He was born in Bristol, England, April 26, 1921, schooled and lived in Winnipeg, MB, until 1941, served for five years overseas with Lord Strathconas Horse (RC). Upon return he became a gifted player with the Winnipeg Drama Club and played many roles in the CBC Farm and School Broadcasts. Roger was of strong character, a mischievous spirit, a passionate man and proud to be a retailer. He was founder of the Traveller Leather Shop from 1966 to 1990. He was decisive, determined, conservative in politics and compassionate. Many young high school and university girls crossed his path in the retail world. He called them "his daughters." His great pleasure was to see them succeed in whatever profession they chose. He enjoyed many hobbies, stained glass, the computer and golf being his favourite. He was past-president of the London Executive Association - active in the Downtown Merchants Association (now B.I.A.). Friends may call on Sunday, April 4 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the James A. Harris Funeral Home, 220 St. James St. at Richmond, London. Cremation has taken place. A private graveside service will be conducted at the family plot, St. Pauls Cemetery, Brooklin, ON. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Parkinson Society Canada would be sincerely appreciated.
