LJUBICA (LOU) RADONICH It is with great sadness that the family of Ljubica Radonich announces her sudden and peaceful passing on May 4, 2004. Mother to Zoran and Victor; Grandmother to Megan, Michael, and Peregrin; Great-Grandmother to Lauren; friend and teacher to so many. She arrived in Canada from Yugoslavia in 1951 to be with her family and like many others to pursue the dream of a new beginning, living in Kirkland Lake, Windsor, and finally settling in Winnipeg in 1959. Her work ethic, an example to us all, made that dream a reality. She loved to teach, starting her career in 1959, she taught elementary for almost 30 years. She believed everyone should have equal opportunity to education and always gave special attention to those less fortunate. In 1962 she married Bogdan Radonich and they spent many wonderful years together at the property they both loved on Henderson Highway. She loved to cook, and everyone loved her cooking. She loved to garden, and did so tirelessly. She loved culture and travel and saw many countries. Most of all she loved her friends and family. Grandma, we are all privileged to have had you in our lives. We wish we could have one more conversation over a cup of coffee and your fabulous pita. Now it is your turn to rest as you have certainly earned it. You will remain forever with love in all our hearts. In lieu of flowers, donations would be greatly appreciated in her memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. A service will be held Saturday, May 8 at 3:30 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St.
