JEAN M. PORTER With deep sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Jean Porter on May 2, 2004 at the age of 92 years. Jean was predeceased by her parents, George and Harriet Porter. Jean was born, raised and worked as a secretary and receptionist in Portage la Prairie, MB. She later moved to Morden, MB. When she retired she became a "snowbird" for 10 years in Mesa, Arizona. After departing Mesa, Jean made her home in Kelowna, BC for the past 17 years. Jean was an avid golfer, fine artist and did beautiful leather work. She also had a passion for reading, doing crossword puzzles and crocheting. Her sense of humour, love for life and her integrity will be forever cherished by her friends. The Rose A Rose may lose its bloom But the fragrance lingers long A bird may fly away Yet we still recall its song So when someone who is loved Departs to join the Lord above They will live and laugh and Be with us in memories of love. A special thanks to Dr. Bruce McKee, public health staff and the staff at Comfort Living for their kind care and support. Cremation has taken place. Cremains will be interred during a graveside service at a later date at Hillside Cemetery, Portage la Prairie, MB. In living memory of Jean M.
