MARY ELIZABETH BEDFORD Peacefully, on July 1, 2004 at the Park Manor Personal Care Home, Mary Bedford, our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away at age 93 years. Mary leaves to mourn and cherish her memory, sons, Jim (Helen) of Saskatoon, Richard, Doug (Debby) and daughter Mary-Lynne Thibert; all of Winnipeg; daughter-in-law Susan of Regina; nine grandchildren, Debbie and Darren of Saskatoon, Danielle (Martin) of The Cayman Islands, Tanys of Regina, Karrie, Jacquie (Jeff), Doug (Desneige), Cameron and Nicole, all of Winnipeg; six great-grandchildren, Savannah and Tanner of Saskatoon, Matthew and Samantha of Regina, Jory and Delayna-Marie of Winnipeg; also many nieces, nephews and cousins. Mary was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Harold, in 2002; her parents, Wilbur and Eleanor Jory; brother, Wilson and Carroll Jory and son-in-law Doug Thibert. Mary was born in Crystal City, MB on March 13, 1911. On November 17, 1940 she was married to Harold Bedford, moving to Transcona in 1946 where they made their home. Marys passion was her family. Her hobbies included baking and knitting for her family. She knitted baby outfits, scarves, mitts, hats and sweaters for all of her grandchildren and some of her great-grandchildren, until her eyesight failed. The Ladies Auxiliary to the Royal Canadian Legion Transcona Branch #7 honoured Mary in 1975 with a Life Membership for all of her hard work and dedication. In 2003, she had received her 55 year Service Pin. Mary was also an Associate Member to the Branch. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 7 at 2:00 p.m. at the Transcona Funeral Chapel, 1800 Day St. Interment will follow at the Transcona Cemetery. Our family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to the staff of Beacon Hill Lodge and Park Manor Personal Care Home for the wonderful care and compassion extended to Mom during her short stays. In lieu of flowers, if friends so wish, memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice. Transcona Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements.
