FILOMENA DASCANIO Peacefully on July 5, 2004, Filomena DAscanio, the beloved wife of the late Felice, at the age of 75 years, passed away at the Health Sciences Centre. She will be sadly missed by her children, Leo (Sharon) Dascanio, Anna (Gaetano) Raimondi and Antonella DAscanio (John Wishnowski) grandchildren, Lisa (Sam), Michael, Laura, Sara; sisters, Olimpia Guffei, Giovannina Notte, Anonietta Biondi; numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Angela and Eugenio Cifelli and by her brother, Gaetano Cifelli. Filomena was born on April 28, 1929 in Castelpetroso, Italy. She was a member of the Holy Rosary Church. She was an active member of the community, enjoyed spending time visiting with her family and friends and passionately cultivating her little garden. Filomena worked for many years in the garment trade. Prayers will be said on Thursday, July 8 at 7:30 p.m. in the Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, 510 River Ave. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 9, also at Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. Sam Argenziano presiding. Following the interment in Brookside Cemetery, a reception will be held at Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the doctors, nurses and staff of the Health Sciences Centre for making Filomenas last days as pleasant as possible. Flowers are graciously accepted; however memorial contributions in Filomenas memory may be made to either the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Diabetes Association.
