ANNA NIKKEL Anna Nikkel, aged 92 of Steinbach and formerly of Calgary passed away suddenly July 8, 2004 at her sons home in Winnipeg. Born in Rucknau, Russia, she immigrated to Canada in 1925 with her mother and five siblings. Anna will be lovingly remembered by her son Ben Watkinson and her daughter MaryAnne (Al) Sum. She will be mourned by two grandsons, Ted Sum and Darryll Sum and his wife Michelle Brennan; as well as niece Gina Van Dusen. She was predeceased by her husband Benjamin Rhodes Watkinson Sr. She very much enjoyed her homestead flower garden, travelling to Radium Hot Springs and bingo at Golden Age Club. A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 16 at 2:00 p.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel in Steinbach with public viewing at 1:30 p.m. Interment at Heritage Cemetery, Steinbach, MB. Flowers accepted or contributions in her memory may be made to Canadian Red Cross, 1111 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, R3G 0S8 or March of Dimes.
