Date of Passing: Jul 02, 2004
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMAYBELLE BUCHHOLZ Peacefully on July 2, 2004 after a brief illness, at Concordia General Hospital. Maybelle grew up in Grahamdale Manitoba and came to Selkirk in the early 1950s when the family moved to live in a series of homes built by her father, Hermann. She lived in the third of the three houses, up until her passing. Maybelle worked at the Selkirk Mental Health Centre for a number of years and then with the Lord Selkirk School Division until her retirement. She was predeceased by her parents, Aurelia and Hermann; two brothers, Roy and Karl and sisters Angela, Alma, Elizabeth and Geri. She is survived by sister Frieda and brother Oscar, many nieces, nephews and grandnieces and nephews across the country, including Jeff and Craig Gunter and Paula Candler and their families with whom she was very close. Aunty Maybelle took great pride and interest in the lives of her grandnieces and nephews, attending their events and activities whenever and wherever she could. She made special efforts to attend each of their birthdays and when she wasnt physically able, made sure there was a gift from her to each one of them. Aunty Maybelle took great pride in her garden, her house and her yard. All of which were immaculately kept. She had a fondness for animals and over the years kept several pets. Those of us who were closest to her will miss her and we are thankful to have had her in our lives. At her request, cremation has taken place and a private burial will be held at a later date. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
