LEONILA "LOLA LUNING" COSINO (nee LIGAYA) November 7, 1926- September 5, 2004 Peacefully, on September 5, 2004, at her residence with her family at her side, Leonila Cosino, aged 77 years, entered into eternal rest. Leonila "Lola Luning" was born in Alfonso, Cavite, Philippines and immigrated to Canada with her husband and seven children in 1982, to join her daughter Nellie and her family. She was predeceased by her parents, Andres and Gregoria; brothers, Fernando, Policarpio; sisters, Benita and Mercedes. She will be lovingly remembered by her beloved husband Lope; and their 13 children, Nellie, Pedro (Tessie), Celia, Minda (Dodit), Nario, Pete (Grace), Phil (Nida), Zeny (Rene), Lito (Divina), Imelda (Arnold), Floriza (Gerry), Ollie (Adelfa), Pabs (Claire) 25 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; numerous relatives in the Philippines, California, Toronto and Spain. Lola Luning was a very loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her grandchildrens noise was her greatest joy. Her kindness and quiet strength even during her illness touched all who knew her. Lamay (viewing and prayers) will be held between 6:00 p.m. and 12:00 midnight, Thursday and Friday, September 16 and 17 at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. (South of the Royal Canadian Mint). Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at (9:00 a.m. Saturday, September 18 at St. Josephs Church, 355 Andrews St. with the Rev. Fr. Diosdado Parrenas celebrant. Interment will follow at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens (Himlayang Philippino Garden). Pallbearers will be Maning Amante, Job Aguilar, Manny Cron, Carlo Alambra, Eddie Soriano and Danny Montifar. Our sincerest thanks to Dr. Jeyakumar and the nursing staff at the Victoria Hospital (5th floor) Oncology Department, her home care and Palliative Care staff as well as CancerCare (HSC and St. Boniface) and Dr. Padua.
