HILDEGARD ELISABETH BEHNKE Peacefully, on Thursday, September 23, 2004, at Donwood Manor, in Winnipeg, Hildegard Behnke, at the age of 91 years, went to be with her Savior and Lord. Hildegard was predeceased by her beloved husband in 1996. She is survived by her children, Walter and Ruth Behnke, Gerlinde Weinert, Elfriede and Wally Kuenstler, Lothar and Erika Behnke, Irene Seaman; 12 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended families and friends. Hildegard was born to Adolf and Elisabeth Maron in Germany, the 17th of 20 children. She married Walter Behnke in 1938. Together with their family they immigrated and started a new life in Canada. Her passion was people, beginning with her family and touching all whom she met with the love of Jesus, her Savior. A heartfelt thanks to all staff at Donwood Manor and others who blessed her with visits. Funeral service will be held on Monday, September 27 at 1:00 p.m. at Mission Baptist Church, 771 Sargent Ave., with interment in Glenlawn Memorial Gardens. Viewing at the church prior to the service.
