FR. ATHANASE, O.C.S.O. ALPHONSE TOUZIN 1907 - 2004 Peacefully on Monday, October 4, 2004 at the Notre Dame Foyer, Notre Dame De Lourdes, MB, formerly of the Notre-Dame des Prairies Trappist Monastery, Holland, MB. Father Athanase Alphonse Touzin passed away at the age of 97 years. Fr. Touzin was born on January 15, 1907 at Lac aux Sables, QC to Ludger and Obeline Touzin. Fr. Touzin entered the Monastery of OKA, QC in 1928 and came to the Monastery of Notre-Dame des Prairies in 1931 where he made his solemn profession in 1933 and was ordained to the priesthood in 1934. Fr. Touzin leaves to mourn his passing and to cherish his loving memory, his brothers of Notre-Dame des Prairies Monastery as well as numerous nephews and nieces in Quebec. Prayers will be said on Wednesday October 6 at 7:30 p.m. at the Notre-Dame des Prairies Monastery. Mass of the Christian burial will take place on Thursday, October 7 at the Notre-Dame des Prairies Monastery, Holland, MB at 2:00 p.m. The interment will follow in the Notre-Dame des Prairies Community Cemetery, Holland, MB.
