CARL ALBERT PORATH September 30, 1922 - October 15, 2004 Surrounded by his family Carl Porath peacefully passed away Friday after a brief and sudden illness. Carl, the fourth of twelve, grew up around Piney, MB. He served overseas in the Second World War. Shortly after his return from service, Carl met and married the love of his life, Clementine, with whom he shared 54 years of marriage. Dad worked at the Canadian National Railway until his retirement. Throughout his life, Dad pursued his love of carpentry and took great pleasure in helping family, friends and neighbours. He also enjoyed the outdoors with his family at West Hawk Lake, camping, fishing and boating. Dad was a gentle, hardworking man who possessed a strength of body and spirit with a determination to provide for his family, We are truly thankful for our life together. Dad was predeceased by his parents, Albert and Esther; his brother Neil and sister Kae. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Clementine; children, Leonard (Jackey), Carol (Dale), Miles (Janelle) and Cathy (Rob) grandchildren, Sharon, Carie, Allison, Neil and Ryan; great-granddaughter Sydney; brothers, Alvin, Garry and Lars; and sisters Bertha, Donna, Doris, Eileen, Grace and Janice. We know that, while you have passed from this life, you are with the Lord, remaining forever in our hearts. We love you dearly and will miss you greatly, husband, dad, grandpa, brother. A celebration of his life will be held on Tuesday, October 19 at 1:00 p.m. at Bethesda Church, 1350 Grant Ave. Interment to follow at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Canadian Sunday School Mission, 200-189 Henderson Hwy., Winnipeg, MB R2L 1L7.
